First foray into Serpentis

Today, several of the guild seniors approached me.

"It's about time you enter the Serpentis dungeon, young padawan."

The raid was quickly formed. A number of fighters, some of whom the strongest in the guild, were recruited to the cause. I was really glad that shifu was able to go with me, and I was determined to do my best and make her proud!

As the raid leaders briefed me on what I had to look out for, shifu stood quietly at the back, her shiny bow glowing in the dim dungeon light. I wonder if I will be strong and cool like her someday?

We encountered a number of dungeon guardians, each with their own powerful attack patterns requiring different strategies to counter. Fortunately, my guildies knew exactly what they were doing and guided me accordingly!

Finally, we entered the last room. Behold, Sirothe the Infernal!

Even though the damage I did was minuscule compared to what the rest could do, I tried my best and followed every command as the senior members burned their way through the different guardians.

After many long hard battles, we emerged victorious! It was my very first visit to Serpentis, so everyone gathered to take a picture.

At the end of the day, shifu, Vel and I returned to our new home in Arcum Iris and put down some new furnitures. We chatted and Vel asked about our foray into the dungeon, and occasionally fought with me over our favorite furnitures in the house ("Cats sleep on the floor!" "No you!") until Aifi walked in and laid claim to the best spots like a boss.

After a while, Shifu retired to bed, and prompted us to do the same. But just as I was about to say good-night and leave, shifu gestured for me to remain behind.

"You did well in Serpentis today," she said coolly, "You followed to the instructions quickly and did not make any major mistakes. Remember to use your backdrop and invulnerability skills more often and at the right time."

"Look for experienced blighters and watch how they fight, Learn some of their tricks, and you might just be able to do better."

My spirits soared as I heard this. I did it! I did my best and made shifu proud! Aifi was always very strict and sparse with praise, and this was one of the very few times that she had something positive to say. I was glad I did well.

"Good night, Vel and Luka." Shifu afforded a rare smile as we all retired to bed, and I must have fallen asleep smiling, too.
